Simply Human: A Guide to Understanding and Combating Hate

In 2025, the University of Toronto Press published this landmark Hate Studies book under the auspices of the Bard Center for the Study of Hate. It can be ordered HERE.

The book not only brings together the collective wisdom of Hate Studies experts to help guide laypeople, non governmental organizations (NGOs), philanthropists and others to understand and tackle hate more effectively — it also provides a useful checklist for NGOs to think through and monitor whether what they do does good, or only feels good.

The checklist is available HERE . Contact the Bard Center for the Study of Hate if you or your organization are interested in a training program around the takeaways from this book.
