The Bard Center for the Study of Hate supports Bard students throughout the Bard network in the following ways:
1) Senior Project research support. Click here for more information.
2) Summer internship programs: mentoring and supporting students who want to spend the summer working with a nongovernmental organization that confronts hate or one of its manifestations. Click here for more information.
3) JFK Library and Museum’s Profile in Courage Essay Contest (with Bard awards for essays about confronting hate). Click here for more information.
4) Beth Rickey Award — given to the member of the Bard Community who has “taken sustained and effective action against hate [and whose] achievements can either be in scholarship, adding to our understanding of how hatred works, or actions, such as political organizing or media work, for example. The recipient’s acts do not necessarily have to show personal courage, but standing up to hate in the face of risk or uncertainty is an additional factor, as is opposing hate inside one’s own community.”Click here for more information.
